The area of Monmouth has been resolved since the Roman times. As a border town between England and Wales, Monmouth has seen more than its share of battles between the English and Welsh peoples.

Rockfield recording studios have a home in Monmouth. Artists such as The Police, The Stone Roses and Led Zeppelin have recorded here. During the night from a trip to the pub can be found in the vicinity of a recording artist. These artists are treated as "one of the slums," without the great attention paid to them.
