The National Gallery
The permanent collection of the National Commission Painting Gallery has western Europe dating from around 1250 onwards. Some famous artists include:
 • Vincent Van Gogh: 1853-1890. Van Gogh is today one of the most popular post-impressionist painters. He was not appreciated during his lifetime. His works are characterized by expressive and emotive use of brilliant color and the vigorous implementation of impasto paint. Born in Holland. In 1890, while suffering from an episode of depression, shot himself in the chest and died two days later.
 • Leonardo da Vinci: 1452-1519. Leonardo was Italian. His paintings are rare survivors, and many of his projects were never completed. He is still revered as a universal genius. I was fascinated by the mystery of the face and the ability to read the 'movements of the soul "through gestures and expressions facial. One of his most famous works is a portrait of his wife, known as the "Mona Lisa." This painting is famous for its enigmatic expression nanny.
 • Miguel Angel: 1475-1564. Born in Italy. He was a painter, on the panel and in fresco, a sculptor, architect and poet. It was the first artist recognized by his contemporaries as a genius. The theme of Christ's death is being repeated throughout his work, and is the subject of his early "Entombment."
 • Rembrandt: 1606-1669. Went Netherlands, and was probably the greatest Dutch painter and one of the most important artists in the tradition of Western European art. Interpretations deep in the Bible, as well as the psychological depth of his portraits remain unique. The self-portraits that made us a pictorial autobiography, however, he probably thought of himself as a painter of history, as represented in the collection "Baltasar party ',' the woman caught in adultery" and a number of other paintings of religious subjects.
