honeymoons out west

Eating in this restaurant is definitely a special occasion. Following of our honeymoon and to celebrate the birthday of my wife, our parents took us to the Whaling Company.
We could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience. The service was excellent and even better seafood. The Shrimp Scampi Linguini was a pile of shrimp sauteed in butter, garlic, tomatoes, parsley, Chablis wine, and juice lemon on a bed of fresh noodles. I chose the Seafood Company whaling skillet, a sumptuous combination of scallops, Backfin crabmeat, shrimp, clams whole, and fresh fish baked with butter Chablis wine served over a bed of rice with spicy paella. Very unique and original, and very tasty. My father chose the Steak Whiskey Peppercorn, drooling all over when he arrived. This flame grilled Filet Mignon came lightly coated with cracked pepper and pepper sauce whiskey – was delicious.
If you're really hungry, appetizers are equally good. I recommend the Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes and Hot n 'Spicy Shrimp.
The Whaling Co. also offers a number of fresh fish selections that vary daily and seasonally. The options available during our visit included sole, tuna, rainbow trout, Coho Bobby, shark, croaker, snapper, tilapia, and Backfin crabmeat. A very accommodating kitchen can prepare your selection in a variety of ways – just ask your server.
The Whaling Company is located at 494 McLaws Circle, a quarter mile west of Busch Gardens Williamsburg. For directions, information and reservations, call (804) 229-0275. Banquet facilities are also available. Tickets range in price from $ 12.95 to $ 16.95, depending some market prices.
