I love to travel instead of just sitting in my backyard all summer long, so anywhere you can go short drive for a day without spending much money is a bonus for me and my family. We live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and love to escape the day, so we decided to go to La Ronde Montreal, which is Two hours drive east of Ottawa. We headed out on a sunny summer day and arrived just in time for the opening of the park. La Ronde is owned and operated by a U.S. company called Six Flags, which are known to have a number of amusement parks in the U.S..
I had never been to La Ronde, before all the years I have lived in Ottawa. We had a fun day going on all the rides, especially the ride of the Splash and Pitoun that are water rides that have been constant in the park for years. The great thing I like about the theme park is all concentrated, so it is easy to reach all roller coaster rides and entertainment, without having to walk for miles. One of the popular roller coaster rides consisted of more than an hour and a half, so I suggest you need to know which rides are the most Popular in advance and if you are there for the opening, go to the most popular games first as alignments can occur very quickly.
La Ronde has an abundance of restaurants, including Pizza-pizza, Greek food, Poutine, French Fries, and for ten dollars you can get a souvenir drink cup can be filled throughout the day without charge.
For younger children, the park has plenty of great walks along with a McDonalds restaurant in the area of children and a small water park to cool off on hot days. Bigger kids will love the variety of roller coaster rides and water rides too. However, we have great fun, let's make the trip to Montreal in an annual event and take in some sights of the center at the same time.
